The 2013 Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts Call for Artists

Being an artist in Buffalo can be a good gig, for a number of reasons. Living in a city with four seasons means that there are plenty of different ways to strategically work and exhibit – a balance if you will. Local recording artist Ani DiFranco once said that she loved to live in Buffalo during the winter because it gave her time to hunker down and be creative. I never forgot that, and to this day I too look forward to winter to escape the more hectic seasons of spring, summer and fall. Hopefully many of Buffalo’s artists and artisans feel the same way. The winter season also allows for the creatives to build up treasure-troves of work, that can then be sold at art festivals, both locally and in other parts of the country.
If you have been brushing up on your craft, while building up your portfolio of sellable pieces, then consider answering the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts (EAFA) “Call for Artists”. EAFA is one of the city’s premier events that showcases so many wonderful artists and artisans, local foods, live music and dance performances. Be sure to get your application in early – all of the information that you need can be found on the festival’s website.
