If you’ve been wondering what ever happened to Lagniappes French Quarter Café in Allentown, then you might be surprised when I tell you that they moved deep into the West Side of the city. That’s right, the restaurant is now being called NOLA (New Orleans Style Food), and has taken over the former Carmen’s Kitchen location (Auburn and West). That’s quite a move for owner operator Chris Silverstein, who is in the process of launching an additional food truck business (see here).
Lovers of Cajun, French and Creole food are still able to count on many of the menu offerings that Chris has been serving up in Allentown over the years, including many of the vegetarian options that customers (like me) relied on. These days NOLA might be more limited when it comes to seating, but Chris is depending on a solid take-out and delivery service to accommodate his Cajun food fans. NOLA is now serving Po Boys, pizza, and a lot of dishes in-between.
