This past December Buffalo Rising ran a series of Buffalo Society of Artists (BSA) features, highlighting regional artists who were exhibiting their works on the city (for example).
Since that time, a number of local artists have joined BSA, and are embarking upon a group exhibit at one of the city’s newest galleries – Meridian West Gallery (photo). “This year the Buffalo Society of Artists is pleased to welcome eighteen new Exhibiting Members into the BSA,” said Paul Rybarczyk. “In honor of our new members a month-long exhibition will be held at Meridian West Gallery located at 1209 Hertel Avenue in Buffalo. Past BSA President George Grace and new Exhibiting Member Nancy Mariani have graciously opened their newly open gallery to our new members. This exhibition is being organized by George, Nancy, and BSA Membership Chair Rich Tomasello. Formed in 1891, The Buffalo Society of Artists is one of longest continuously running arts organizations in the country and currently has over 260 exhibiting and associate members. The opening reception will be on Saturday, February 9th from 7-9pm and the show will run until Saturday, March 2nd. Meridian West Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday from 3-6pm and Saturday from 12-6pm.”
