2013 marks the 125 Year Anniversary of the Broadway Market. That means that supporters of the market, including Buffalo Eastsiders Standing Together Community Association (B.E.S.T) and Friends of the Broadway Market District will be thinking of new ways to draw people to the historic destination throughout the year. One of those ways is to provide informational talks by local historians on the importance of the neighborhood, as it pertains to its people and the entrepreneurial spirit that helped to build the neighborhood.
The lecture series kicks off on January 12th at noon in the Broadway Market with a presentation by David Franczyk, Fillmore District Councilmember, on the History of the Eastside of Buffalo
The February presentation will be on the History of Sattlers by Mike Rizzo – author of Nine Nine Eight – The Glory Days of Buffalo Shopping (lead image)
The March presentation will be on the History of Breweries in Buffalo and on the Eastside of Buffalo by Peter Jablonski
