Consent to Sale of Real Property – The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by Fillmore District Council Member David A. Franczyk, consenting to the sale, by Buffalo Village Associates, of the following properties to the Whitney Preservation Housing Development Fund Corporation:
- Upon the request of the City of Buffalo Department of Community Services, the Council:
- Authorized the Division of Youth to accept a grant in the amount of $16,934 from the New York State Department of Criminal Justices Services to fund the City of Buffalo Girls Circle Program.
- Upon the request of the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works (“DPW”), the Council:
- Authorized DPW to hire Benchmark Environmental Engineering & Science, PLLC to perform annual site inspection, groundwater monitoring and reporting services for the period of 2012 through 2016 at the Kingsley Park Site in the City of Buffalo. The cost of these services is estimated not to exceed $12,700.
- Authorized DPW to accept New York State Department of State grant funds in the amount of $800,000, which were awarded to Buffalo Niagara RiverKeepers, for the Broderick Park Master Plan and Improvement Project (Lead images)- Learn more.
- Authorized execution of a contract for weekly recycling collection with the City of Buffalo’s existing recycling contractor, resulting in a total monthly contract cost of $166,367.
- Upon the request of the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works (“DPW”), the Council approved the following contract change orders:
- The contract with Quackenbush Co., Inc. for the Museum of Science Mechanical Reconstruction Project was increased by $8,314 for additional work necessary to complete the project. The contract was initially awarded in the amount of $293,000 and with this change the contract will increase to $301,314.
- The contract with Lardon Construction Corp. for yard waste removal in the City of Buffalo was increased by an amount not to exceed $20,000 over the original contract for the continuation of leaf removal throughout the remainder of the year. The contract was initially awarded in the amount of $80,000 and with this change the total contract to date is $100,000.
- The contract with TVGA Consultants for Water Distribution Improvements in Various Locations North – Phase 2 was increased by $29,500 for engineering services necessary to construct a new eight inch water main on Michigan Avenue between Carlton Street and High Street. The contract was initially awarded in the amount of $371,110 and with this change the contract will increase to $400,610.
- The contract with Union Concrete and Construction Corp. for Repairs at the Ellicott & Goodrich Garage (“EGG”) Project was increased by $4,812 for additional work necessary to complete the project. The contract was initially awarded in the amount of $27,362 and with this change the contract will increase to $32,175.
- Upon the request of the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works, the Council approved the following reports of bids:
- Of the bids that were received for Emergency Structural Repairs to the Ohio Street Lift Bridge and Michigan Avenue Lift Bridge, Hohl Industrial Services Inc. was the lowest, with a bid of $100,056.
- Of the bids that were received for Bridge Joint Replacement and Resurfacing at Various Locations Project, Oakgrove Construction, Inc. was the lowest, with a bid of $335,968.
- Of the bids that were received for Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society Electrical Renovations Project, Frey Electrical Construction Co., Inc. was the lowest, with a bid of $892,000.
- Of the bids that were received for City Court – 4th Floor Reconstruction Project – Phase IV, Miller Enterprises was the lowest, with a bid of $49,900.
