Buffalo Society of Artists: Betty J. Pitts-Foster

Over the holidays we will be highlighting a number of members of Buffalo Society of Artists (BSA), so that you might support them by purchasing original works of art. Thanks to Paul Rybarczyk at BSA for helping me put these together. Visit the BSA website to learn more about the institution – one of the oldest continually operating arts organizations in the country. Next up on our list is artist Betty J. Pitts-Foster:
Betty J. Pitts-Foster holds a BFA and an MA in Education from the University of Buffalo and has been fortunate to retire and focus full time on exploring and developing the height, depth, length and width of her art ability.
Her past awards include prizes from the Chautauqua Art Association’s 13th National Jury Show, Buffalo Arts Society, and the Williamsville Art Society. Also she was selected by renown artists Ernest Chrichlow and Romare Bearden to be a part of an art exhibition showcasing 15 young NYS artists at the Gallery Museum, Saratoga Performing Arts Center. In 2004 her work was selected by the US State Department’s Art in Embassies program and was on display in the American embassy in Haiti during the tenure of Buffalo born Ambassador James B. Foley. She has participated in numerous group shows including a two person show at the Chautauqua Art Association, a three person at Art Dialogue in 2004, various member shows at Buffalo Arts Studio, Buffalo Arts Society, Albright Art Gallery and Impact Gallery.
Her studio is located in the Buffalo Arts Studio, Room 500 in the Tri-Main Building, 2495 Main Street, Buffalo and her oil paintings are now on display in the Buffalo Arts Studio member show November 17, 2012 – January 12, 2013.
