I don’t know what it is about puppeteers and Buffalo these days, but there is another puppet troop heading our way thanks to The Foundry. On Wednesday November 21 at 7pm, Magic Puppet Tour is coming to The Foundry, featuring the collaborative creations of Poncili Company and Jawbone Puppet Theater. Then, on Saturday November 24 at 2pm, these same puppeteers will be conducting a workshop, with instructions and hands-on demonstrations on “how to build your own puppets”.
Among featured puppeteers at these fun-filled events, Adam Ende (Jawbone Puppet Theater) and Pablo Del Hierro (Poncili Company) will be selling some of their affordable creations (and giving a few away), while teaching workshops, showcasing mask-making skills, demonstrating the power of collective murals (with children) and teaching juggling techniques – great stuff for families! Puppeteer Adam Ende says, “This is not just a puppet tour–it’s an experiment in art, life, theater and education, in which we intend to fully engage with the communities we visit, and hope that by sharing and creating art together we will create a little bit more magic in the world.”
There’s nothing like the mystery and mastery of a puppet show to unleash the imagination in a person, especially when there are so many interactive aspects involved. “We are locked and loaded and ready to start our wonderful journey of spreading art and laughter” said Puppeteer Pablo Del Hierro. “Our first stop, Buffalo, is a place none of us have ever visited but are extremely eager to encounter.”
