By Jeremy Hazelton:
You are invited to help feed the hungry this Christmas. In collaboration with Stop Hunger Now, Village Church will host a meal packing event on December 16, 2012 from 10AM-NOON @ 135 Cleveland Ave (Nardin Academy).
Stop Hunger Now is an international aid agency providing school supplies, medical supplies, and food support to over 76 countries around the world. Ending hunger has long-term systemic effects on the cycles of poverty that cripple much of the developing world. As a community we have been moved to help with these efforts, and have committed to package and ship 30,000 meals. The meals will go to support emergency food needs and school feeding programs, as distributed by local partners of Stop Hunger Now. The meals that we will be packing contain rice, soy, vegetables, and over 21 essential vitamins and nutrients; they are nothing short of life-saving aid in many places.
Village Church would like to invite everyone from our community to help us with this event. This is a “no-strings-attached” project. We simply want to mobilize a group of volunteers to help provide these much needed meals. The event will take place in the high school gym of Nardin Academy on Sunday December 16. The meals cost $0.25 each, if you are interested in making a donation you can contact info@villagechurchbflo.com. 100% of donations for FEED 30,000 will go to offset the costs of the meals, any additional funds will be donated to Stop Hunger Now.
Please consider joining us on December 16, and make a difference to someone who is hungry.
**We will be providing on-site childcare for children 6months-4yrs, children 5 and older will be able to participate in the packaging of meals. If you require childcare please RSVP to info@villagechurchbflo.com (All of our childcare workers have been background checked and screened, your child’s safety is our number one priority.)
**Village Church is a new community of faith in Elmwood Village. Please contact info@villagechurchbflo.com with any questions.
