Each holiday season, members of B-Team Buffalo (BTB) organize a grassroots event called City of Light. In essence, the goal of the initiative is to decorate a neighborhood in the city so that it shines for the holidays. This year, B-Team Buffalo (Facebook) has chosen the old First Ward as the recipient for the decorating project. Not only will the team be decorating the streets, volunteers will also be adding a sparkling touch to over 100 houses in the neighborhood. On top of that, B-Team Buffalo will be hosting a winter carnival and inviting all of the old First Ward residents to join the volunteers for a merry old feast.
At this point, the organization is looking for additional volunteers to help set up, decorate, serve dinner and tidy up. Anyone interested in participating, please email Colleen at B-Team Buffalo. Here are the rest of the details:

9am: Sign in and breakfast provided by Coffee Culture Elmwood
10am: Decorating begins
1pm: Lunch for volunteers provided by Roaming Buffalo Food Truck
2-4: Carnival and more decorating
4-5:30: Carnival Clean up
5:30: Tree Lighting Ceremony
6pm: Dinner
BTB will have shifts from 9am-1pm and 2pm-6pm for decorating. Carnival shift is 1:30pm-5:30pm. However BTB can customize shifts to fit into your schedule, every hour of volunteering is appreciated!!
