As a part this month’s First Fridays Allentown on August 3rd, GO Buffalo, the Allentown Association, and the Infringement Festival are hosting their first ever “Artists & Cyclists”. “Artists & Cyclists” will close down Allen Street to motor vehicles between Franklin and Delaware Avenues from 6-9pm. People are instead encouraged to walk, cycle, or take public transit to First Fridays art walk and Buffalo Infringement Festival events.
In addition to making this portion of Allen Street safe for artists and festival goers to walk and cycle, “Artists & Cyclists” is intended to demonstrate how commerce can flourish in a car-free environment. As transportation systems change in our city, it is important to exhibit the functionality of events, businesses, and city spaces without the presence of cars. This street will feature DIY vendors, Infringement artists and performers, a GO Buffalo information station, a mobile repair bike shop, and a Social Bikes (Buffalo Bike Share) demonstration.
So, join GO Buffalo, First Fridays Allentown, the Allentown Association, and Buffalo Infringement Festival at “Artists & Cyclists”. Leave your cars at home and enjoy the perks of walking, cycling, and public transit!
