Moments ago, the line-up for both downtown’s free and paid summer waterfront concert series was announced. Coming at you live (well, for me at least) from Labatt Blue USA headquarters is the summer concert line-up at the Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf aka Canalside. Taking a quick glance at this year’s talent pool, there are some serious highlights that I am jazzed for.
Personally, I am a HUGE fan of Built to Spill and still can’t believe that I’m seeing them in the line-up. I love the Indie throwbacks, and when it comes to Indie, Built to Spill is one of the iconic bands that paved the way for countless others. Although not on my listening rotation, I’m sure that Salt-N-Peppa will be a big hit with the masses, and there is no doubt that LL Cool J will be a GIGANTIC draw. I like the well-rounded mix of bands – something for everyone. Even The J.Geils Band made the list, which will keep all of the classic rockers at bay. Honorable mention goes to Feist – a performer that drew a few ‘Ooohs and aaahs’ for the crowd just a short while ago.
So there you have it. Indie rock on Buffalo! Don’t forget to get your free App from Buffalo Place to keep up to date with these concerts and possibly a couple more yet-to-be-announced shows!
