Thursday at The Harbor & Buffalo Place Rocks the Harbor

Moments ago, the line-up for both downtown’s free and paid summer waterfront concert series was announced. Coming at you live  (well, for me at least) from Labatt Blue USA headquarters is the summer concert line-up at the Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf aka Canalside. Taking a quick glance at this year’s talent pool, there are some serious highlights that I am jazzed for.

Personally, I am a HUGE fan of Built to Spill and still can’t believe that I’m seeing them in the line-up. I love the Indie throwbacks, and when it comes to Indie, Built to Spill is one of the iconic bands that paved the way for countless others. Although not on my listening rotation, I’m sure that Salt-N-Peppa will be a big hit with the masses, and there is no doubt that LL Cool J will be a GIGANTIC draw. I like the well-rounded mix of bands – something for everyone. Even The J.Geils Band made the list, which will keep all of the classic rockers at bay. Honorable mention goes to Feist – a performer that drew a few ‘Ooohs and aaahs’ for the crowd just a short while ago.
So there you have it. Indie rock on Buffalo! Don’t forget to get your free App from Buffalo Place to keep up to date with these concerts and possibly a couple more yet-to-be-announced shows!

MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES, I'm a huge fan of these guys and if you think they are a Ska band from the 90's look again. I just saw them in Boston MA this past Dec. ( THROWDOWN ) which they have been doing for years. They never went away. The Magic Of The Youth is there latest album CHECK THEM OUT. The one show you must see and you won't forget.

I am a huuuuuge Bosstones fan, that really makes me happy.

I have heard that LL Cool J will also be coming with Salt n Pepa -- can anyone confirm that?

Wow, I take back some of the things I said when they announced the first couple acts a month ago. There's some real gems playing this year. Not a fan of Girl Talk though, but still cool.

Yes, Girl Talk will be at the outer harbor August 23rd.

Can I get some fries with a shake shake booty? If looks could kill, you would be an Uzi...

WOW, Buffalo Place finally woke up and got some better acts this year (MIXED GENRE). Bout time!

You guys tweeting something about Girl Talk playing the Outer Harbor. Any more info on that or about concerts at the Outer Harbor in general?

Not too bad. The Cult are playing here tonight at the historic Fillmore and it is sold out. Tickets on Craigslist are about $50 a pop. Nice to have good bands play and see them for free.
