The Irish Classical Theatre Company has been nominated for Best Event Website in the 16th Annual Webby Awards. The nomination comes for The Wake 2011 website, partytodiefor.com, developed by Crowley Webb.
Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. The IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of web industry experts such as media mogul Arianna Huffington, Skype CEO Tony Bates, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, and music legend David Bowie, just to name a few.
Nominated in the Best Event Website category, along with Buffalo’s Irish Classical Theatre, are industry giants Focus Forward Films, the Sundance Channel, Tribeca Films and premier digital production house Propaganda 3.
“Nominees like the Irish Classical Theatre and Crowley Webb are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said David-Michel Davies, Exceutive Director of The Webby Awards. “It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the very best from the nearly 10,000 entries we received this year.”
