Lafayette Court at 465 Main Street is getting a new food tenant. The Lunch Box, a café and catering company serving salads, sandwiches and wraps that will be open for breakfast and lunch, is opening its third city location on the ground floor of the office building that is owned by Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation.
The company was founded in 2009 by Amy McCarthy, co-founder of Globe Market, in the Tri-Main Center at 2495 Main Street. A kiosk location was later opened in the lobby of the Innovation Center on Ellicott Street at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
The café will occupy a little over 1,000 sq.ft. on the ground floor of Lafayette Court, an eight-story, 210,000 sq.ft. office building that was formerly Sibley’s Department Store.
Tim Malchow, Director of Leasing for Ciminelli, handled the transaction on behalf of the building owner.
“The Lunch Box is the perfect complement to Lafayette Court’s tenant base, and they are a very welcome addition to the building,” said Malchow. “Amy brings a fantastic amenity to the tenants there, and to the surrounding neighbors as well.”
According to their website, “The Lunch Box puts a strong emphasis on being a responsible social steward; buying local ingredients when possible, developing a strong and desirable company culture and enhancing the surrounding neighborhood.”
The new location could be open as soon as next week.
