A long-vacant building surrounded by recent and proposed development is up for sale. The former Ellicott Paint Co. location at 112 Genesee Street, across from Genesee Gateway and between Ellicott and Oak Streets, is listed with Coldwell Banker with a $199,000 asking price. The two building, four-story property has 9,038 sq.ft. of investment-ready space.
From the listing:
Buildings’ amenities include high tin ceilings, off street parking alley, exposed brick, stone foundation, plenty of windows and natural light. Creative financing opportunity includes possible owner financing with acceptable terms or possible partnership investment.
Businessman and former candidate for mayor Steve Calvaneso purchased the building in February 2005 for $90,000 but cancelled plans to convert the building into two apartments and offices for his Ultimate Restaurant Group.
Calvaneso sold it to current owners Aaron Ackley and Paul Caruana of Hat Trick Development Inc. for $155,000 in September 2006.
Hat Trick was reportedly planning to renovate the property for residential and commercial uses but never proceeded.
