Even though the Parkside Garden Tour is a long way off (Sunday, June 24, 10-6), preparation is underway to promote a Buffalo-style Garden Art Sale during that same weekend, with proceeds benefitting the National Garden Festival. The art sale will be held at the Parkside Lodge, and event organizers have begun to search for artists and craftspeople who have an interest in gardens, flowers, etc.
A recent press release stated that the intention is “… to solicit artists and vendors to participate. We’re looking for original garden art in any medium, garden-related arts & crafts, architectural remnants, found art, repurposed art, vintage outdoor signs — any thing that relates to gardens in some way. Buffalo’s gardens have a reputation for being infused with art — we’re looking to secure that spot in people’s minds. The WNY Hosta Society will be having their biennial show there, as well as garden society non-profits with tables with info for visitors. NO mass-produced items will be allowed. The deadline is Friday, March 9.”
