This six-unit apartment building is looking for a loving new owner. The 6,200 sq.ft. rooming house is located at 83 Prospect in the Historic West Village. It needs a full rehab and is priced accordingly at just $150,000.
From the Hunt Commercial Real Estate listing:
Building is currently set up as a rooming house but could easily be turned back to a 5-6 unit apartment building. Each floor has two 1000 sq. ft. 2 bedroom units. All units are in need of full rehab.
Not much is known about the property, but it bears some resemblance to The Whitney project at 65 Whitney Place. Sunset Bay Park Inc. converted that historic three-story building into six 1,093 sq.ft. residential units, each with two bedrooms and one bath. Built in 1898, the three and a half-story brick, Italian palazzo-style building was originally built as a hotel for the Pan Am Exposition.
The Whitney’s exterior features decorative brick quoining and splayed brick arches. One of the six units has sold while the other five have been rented. A unit in the building can be purchased for $129,900.
