Freeze Frame By Cassie Elsaesser:
This year’s Olmsted Parks Flurrious! Festival went off without a hitch in Delaware Park. With activities like igloo building, ice-skating, snow tennis, a snow run and a quidditch tournament (just to name a few), it sure was a winter festival to be a part of. Fashion Maniac was there modeling all the latest trends in winter apparel and showing that Buffalo really knows how to dress fashionably in frigid temperatures, after all, us Buffalonians have had some experience with cold weather.
This winter we saw diversity in trends. Everything from fur (faux, please) to printed sweaters and jackets were key to pulling together your winter ensemble. Although the days are (hopefully) getting a little warmer, we all know the weather here in Buffalo is anything but predictable.
Investing in items for winter will never go off trend. An added perk to buying winter pieces is most of the boutiques here in Buffalo have already made room for their spring apparel so winter items are as affordable as ever.
Faux fur has been seen as a huge trend for this winter season. There are
a variety of ways to rock this trend in the cold weather, one way being
faux fur hats and scarves. Adding a touch of fur to your winter outfit
will keep you not only warm but extremely on trend for this season.
For those of you who want to embrace this trend whole-heartedly, a full on fur coat can be a way to do so. We’ve seen designers and street style fashionistas rocking this faux fur trend in so many ways, the possibilities are really endless. For the men this trend isn’t completely off limits. Wearing a faux fur hat or even adding a touch of fur to a scarf or pair of gloves can keep you on trend for this season in a subtle, masculine way.

Printed sweaters are also a very big trend for this season, everything from animal print to original and innovative patterns have been seen being sent down the runway for the winter season. Wearing a printed sweater can amp up any pair of black jeans or leggings, this trend can be cozy warm and comfy as well as chic and fashionable. Accessorizing with a solid colored infinity scarf can really add to your printed ensemble as well.
This winter keeping warm and staying positive for these cold months is key above anything else. The Flurrious! Festival certainly was great way to enjoy Buffalo’s winter weather and as always Fashion Maniac is here to keep you fashionable and cozy on any other winter outings this season.
