A great night at the corner of Elmwood & Bidwell last night – there are many great nights on that corner, but this one especially. The 30th Annual running of the Subaru 4 Mile Chase took place on a fantastic evening through the parkway and Elmwood Village. I don’t have a lot of names, but the one that really matters is Jim Nowicki who has lead the charge on this road race from the start, congratulations Jim.
Bill Rogers, world famous marathoner, was in town as well as others, and that really helped build the excitement over the last few days. I don’t have a lot of other info on the winners’ names and such but I did however hear a stat that runners from all 50 states and 24 other countries have run in this event through the years. I will say it was a great party and all the runners seemed to have a blast. The race benefited PAL this year and obviously Subaru, the folks from West Herr and Northtown helped make that happen.
The ones who really stood out to me were the 3 older gentlemen, the oldest being 92! I heard someone yell “Ted” as he was approaching the finish line, god bless ya Ted!
Let us know if you were down on the parkway and what you took away from it.
