What would the Elmwood Village be without a pub crawl? That’s what Jeff Empric from Roaming Buffaloes Outdoor Adventure Club wondered before he set off to design one. On June 19th, from 9pm to 4am (gotta love Buffalo’s early morning closing hour) a slew of bars will welcome pub crawlers into their establishments to do what pub crawlers do best… drink. The event is being sponsored by Labatt Blue, and is one of many events that Roaming Buffaloes is organizing in the city this summer.
Seeing that this is Elmwood’s only official pub crawl, it is interesting to note that that organizers are already estimating between 3000-5000 participants taking part the first year. So far, confirmed restaurants and bars waiving covers and participating in drink specials are: Coles, Cozumel, Mister Goodbar, JP Bullfeathers, JJ’s Sports Bar (at Casa di Pizza), Elmwood Lounge, Thirsty Buffalo, Nektar and Wine Thief. There will also be food specials announced as the event draws near. If you can walk from Cozumel to Coles (2 miles), and can consume vast quantities of beer (and other beverages), then all you need to do is sign up for $10. That gets you a wrist band and crawler cup. Organizers are doing their best to ensure that everyone has a fun and safe time. Four buses will be running along the strip while security officers will be stationed at Coles, Cozumel and the corner of Elmwood and Hodge (checking photo IDs and issuing cups and bracelets to crawlers).
Percentage of proceeds will be going toward The Elmwood Village Association (how ’bout some public art?). To score your tix click here. Or questions or comments send an email here.
