Cazenovia Recovery Systems is putting the finishing touches on its Amherst Station project at 2665-71 Main Street. Two adjoining masonry buildings have been renovated to create office space for the agency on the first floor and twenty-four apartments, nineteen one-bedroom and five, two-bedroom units. The development is located across Main Street from the Amherst Street light rail station.
The residences are available for low and very-low income households and people with alcohol and/or substance dependence. One bedroom units start at $395 per month plus utilities and two bedroom units begin at $465 per month. Four units will be targeted to persons with alcohol and/or substance dependence with the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services providing rental assistance.
Key funding was provided by the NYS HOME Program, the federal Low-Income Housing Credit Program, the NYS Urban Initiatives Program, and the City of Buffalo Home Program.
BRD Construction is general contractor, and Fontanese Folts Aubrecht Ernst Architects, P.C. is architect. The building is designed to NYSERDA standards and will be LEED-certified.
