In the past we’ve had the opportunity to cover a lot of the skateboarding and BMX scene in Buffalo. The hidden parks, the corporate hangs, the future homes – both indoors and out (more on that to come), and the people who continue to ride and promote the culture throughout the city. Now it’s time to shred some light on the inspirational rollerbladers in this city who are constantly ripping it up at the local schools, studios, parks, culturals, and anywhere else they can find sufficient rails and gaps to film. That’s right, film.
After two years of filming, Ricky Coster and Dan Barnes have compiled enough footage to release an indie video called “B-Roll”. The footage was shot in Buffalo for the most part, though there is some Rochester footage as well. It’s a real eye-opener into the local inline scene, and one that includes plenty of fun shots of the city in ways that you might never have imagined. As luck would have it, the video was just featured on ONE rollerblading magazine‘s website – the scenes are shot well and the skating is a blast to watch. I’m amazed that any of the riders are still walking after witnessing some of the stunts. Click here to see the video.
