At last weekend’s Italian Festival, an Italian-themed trivia quiz was designed to give attendees a chance to win movie tickets. Made up of some easy questions, as well as a few stumpers, it was one of the seemingly easy questions that took the crowd a while.
The task given to the crowd was to name the 2 Italian-American mayors in Buffalo’s history. Oddly enough, Sedita was shouted out immediately, but the name of the 2nd, more recent mayor took the crowd an inordinately long time to come up with.
From our recent history, the answer Anthony Masiello finally surfaced. Masiello, Buffalo’s 57th mayor, served 3-terms from 1994 – 2005.
How quickly we forget. Just for fun, here are some more mayoral quiz questions from Chuck LaChiusa’s Buffalo Architectural History site.
