Today at noon, the Seneca Nation of Indians will sign an agreement that will authorize direct payments to Sullivan County for the New York State share of casino revenues expected from the yet to be financed or built $1.3 Billion casino in the Catskill resort area.
“We believe the Seneca project is in an optimal position
to secure the capital necessary to fund its construction. Its proximity to the
New York Metropolitan area will make this an attractive destination. We
strongly believe in the vision of the Seneca Nation, viability of the market
and the management of Rotate Black,” said Michiel McCarty, Managing
Director and Head of Investment Banking at CRT.
The completed casino will encompass 2 million square feet, with 6,000 slots, 120 game tables, 30 poker tables, a race booking center, a 1,500 room hotel and spa and 12 restaurants, along with retail and banquet space.
Though the Senecas claimed that they halted construction on the Buffalo Creek Casino (below) due to financial constraints, pressure from the Citizens Against Casino Gambling in Erie County.
