Three Buffalo-based acts will go on stage beginning
at
Indie rock, alternative country and acoustic
varieties will all be rolled into one evening. Likened to The Decembrists, The
Shins, and Death Cab For Cutie, Shambu falls into the indie pop category, with Peter Burakowski
supplying the vocals and guitar; Dave Milazzo on the bass and trumpet; Mike
Milazzo on the guitar and bass; Mike DiGiacomo playing the sax; and Brian Dziewa
on the drums.
The group will play its cycle of four songs
committed to the 1901 Pan-American Exposition and the assassination of
President William McKinley. The band will be joined by Tiffany Schooley (The
Muzz) and Heidi Miller on vocals.
Schooley is part acoustic duo, The Muzz, with Steve
Imerese that will also perform; Schooley provides the vocals, while Imerese is
on the guitar. Schooley was the winner of the 2008 Buffalo Music Award for Best
Female Blues Singer.
The third act is alternate country singer Brian
Wheat, who was awarded Best Solo Artist by Buffalo Spree magazine in 2007. Wheat
has played with Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon), Hamell on Trial
(Righteous Babe Records), and David Dondero (Team Love).
Admission to the show is $6 at the
door. All ages are welcome.
