Americans love two things: football and donuts. Dunkin’ Donuts knows this, which is why they’ve offered a “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut” promotion. For the first time ever, you can create a donut, and not just in the usual way of ordering regular donuts, bringing them home and topping them with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, maple syrup and another donut. No sir! You can invent a new donut, and you could win $12,000.
Starting today and ending April 7, you can log onto their website to begin the insanity. The site offers digital toppings and donut types. You just click on what ingrediants you want. Unfortunately, you can’t make outlandish and bizarre donuts, because they know that’s exactly what everyone would do – build donuts with Boston creme, chocolate sprinkles, poppy seeds, sour cream, steak, etc. You must be 13 to enter, because that’s the legal donut eating age.
In May, one dozen finalists will be flown to Dunkin’ Donuts University – a place that exists – for a bake-off with Dunkin’ Donuts expert donut chefs. After some online voting beginning May 15, the winner will be unveiled in June.
To coincide with the “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut” promotion, the company also began their 49-cent donut with a medium or larger coffee value deal.
And don’t forget about their two NEWEST donut designs; Berries n’ Kreme and Dunkin’ Delight. Berries n’ Kreme is strawberry frosting topped with Berry Bark sprinkles, and filled with bavarian creme. Dunkin’ Delight is a yeast ring donut with chocolate frosting topped with pink and orange sprinkles. They’ll be available until April 21st.
So you see, if Berries n’ Kreme and Dunkin’ Delight are the new “rage” at Dunkin’ Donuts, you have a really good chance at making the next big thing! Good luck!
