We’re just guessing on the nomenclature here.
What we do know is that Operation Kaiser Roll was designed to get guns, gangs and drugs off of the streets of Buffalo, which they did to the tune of rounding up 11 more suspects over the weekend in South Buffalo and “Kaiser”town areas.
Focused primarily on the sale and distribution of cocaine and crack, BPD members were able to identify and make a buy from the suspects on several occasions during the 6-month investigation. This past weekend, 9 search warrants netted 11 arrests, 5 of which resulted in arrests for sale of illegal substances. Police also confiscated 6oz. of cocaine, 4oz of crack, a .380 caliber gun and $1,300 in cash.
Two dogs were shot and killed in one raid as well, as per this Buffalo News story. No arrests were made at that particular house, though it was targeted through a prior prescription drug buy at that location.
Lt, Paul Delano led the BPD Narcotics unit in the investigation, which was assisted by the Amherst Police, DEA, East Aurora Police, Erie County DA’s office and NY State Police.
Mayor Byron Brown said, “Our efforts over the years have been relentless in eradicating this scourge from our city streets, and we’ll continue to fight for the law abiding residents of Buffalo.”
