The real reason that I went over to New Era Headquarters yesterday was to see the company,Aeos latest logo installation. Jeff Gabriel (Gabriel Designs – left) and Randy Krunkle were busy chiseling out the acrylic epoxy that was set between the water-jet-cut surgical steel logo. Jeff Gabriel happened to land the New Era gig after installing the custom staircase at Body Blocks located at 496 Pearl Street. Since that fateful day Jeff has also traveled to the New Era Manhattan store to work on custom installations there.
Jeff Gabriel has worked with a number of local businesses and architects to build out their custom designs. He has also designed freestanding furniture and is currently working on a railing system for BRO. A former welding instructor, Jeff plans on getting back to the basics by offering an updated welding course in the near future (studio on West Ferry). One of Jeff,Aeos big dreams is to establish an inner city work/teach program that would be geared towards job training for potential workers. The plan would see to it that public chain link fencing would be replaced with iron gates. The project would be a win-win for the city. Job training while replacing chain link fences? Good luck Jeff.
