It’s time to gear up for the grand opening of Lu Modern Classics. The displays are in (for the most part), the light fixtures are being installed tomorrow morning, and Lou is working around the clock to get the store open. The neighborhood is jazzed too. Tonight I met up with Lou and Kym from Damsel in a Dress… the two were running from display to display organizing, and arranging the merchandise. Hooded Gant sweatshirts, dress shirts, and jackets line the wall, the point of purchase systems have been set up, and the kick-ass sound system has been installed. The music (Sirus) was playing throughout both floors and even the front of the building (outside) has been wired for sound.
Lou wants to remind people that half of the merchandise (if not more) is for the ladies. The handbags and the jewelry have arrived and are nestled in between the lines of New Frontier and Nas Nast. Wide planked wood floors make up the sprawling interior landscape and dark wood displays act as backdrops to much of the colorful merchandise that inhabits the space. Friday’s the BIG day and someone from BRO will be on hand before the grand opening to provide a little designer eye candy served up by Lu Modern Classics.
Buffalo Rising
Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
