Well folks, whether you like the changes going on at One Bills Drive or not, the ’06-’07 schedule has been released. The Bills will not have their home opener until the third week of the season when they host the Jets. Looking at the schedule, it does not look to be too daunting of a task as long as one of the QBs on the roster can separate themselves from the rest.
Opening against the Patriots could be a blessing in disguise for Buffalo. It is also a bonus that they get the Miami game out of the way in week two. These games were going to be losses either way so you might as well play them while some rust is still lingering. Who knows, with the losses the Pats have been handed recently, it could be the perfect stage for an upset. The big question mark this year seems to be the Miami Dolphins. If they are going to be as good as experts have hyped them to be, the Bills will have yet another long season ahead of them.
As far as having no prime time games, GOOD!!! The Bills are horrible when on national TV and fans should be happy that no added pressure will be on this team. The only sure fire losses that I foresee this year come against Indy, New England once and Miami once. Having said that, the Bills have a chance to lose every single game this year if there is not a change of attitude on the field. Fortunately, I believe that after the draft and training camp, there are going to be some players that step it up to the next level. There are plenty of games on this schedule that a half way decent team should be competitive against. The question is if this team has the talent to do so. In my opinion, it is imperative that management hits a homerun throughout the first three rounds of the draft.
Closing the season out with four out of the last six games at home could be exactly what the Bills need if they are able to catch lightning in a bottle and stay competitive within their own division. I know it is early folks but when you live in the city of Buffalo, does the season really ever end?
