Slow Food Buffalo proudly presents: “Cookin’ With Jazz” – A Benefit For The Colored Musicians Club. Featuring the Dale and Desi Poliver Quartet with New Orleans Cuisine provided by Shango and dessert by Choco-Logo. Friday February 3rd, 2006 @ The Colored Musicians Club 145 Broadway in Buffalo.
6 PM – Colored Musicians Club Doors Open – Choco-Logo (141 Broadway) a high quality custom chocolate manufacturer located next door to the Club (customers include Bloomingdales and the University of Chicago) will conduct a tour of their facility at 6PM and will have their chocolate shop open until 6:30 PM the day of the show.
It’s an excellent opportunity to find some Buffalo made chocolate just one week prior to Valentine’s Day. (Please mention the “Chocolate Tour” in your RSVP – no reservation needed to stop by and see the store.)
7 PM – New Orleans Style Dinner and “History of the Colored Musicians Club” with featured speaker George Scott (President of the Colored Musicians Club) – Dinner features New Orleans Style cuisine including Jambalaya and Gumbo from Buffalo’s premier New Orleans themed restaurant Shango (3260 Main Street) and dessert by Choco-Logo.
9 PM – Live Jazz Concert by The Dale and Desi Poliver Quartet
The quartet is an accomplished jazz guitar combo that was a sensation at the Club’s 70th Anniversary Concert this past summer.
The Dinner is limited to 40 people. To attend you MUST send an RSVP e-mail to info@slowfoodbuffalo.org or call Sandy Starks @ 716-839-5150. The cost is $40.00 to attend dinner and the concert. Funds will be collected at the event.
Canit come to the dinner? Then join us at 9 for the music. All are welcome to relax and listen to the sounds of the Dale & Desi Poliver Quartet. The cost will be $10.00 after 8:30PM. A cash bar will be available featuring beer from our good friends at Flying Bison Brewing.
