Did you know that Buffalo has the 6th strongest winds of cities in the US?
The Wind Action Group, Erie County and NYSERDA, will be releasing the
Shoreline Wind Study on Thursday, November 17th at 6 PM at the downtown library. This study provides comprehensive wind data on five sites on the Erie County Shoreline and supports the claim that WNY has one of the best opportunities for urban wind development in the nation.
Comprehensive wind measurements have been taken at five sites on the urban Western New York waterfront by Erie County and NYSERDA (the NYS Energy Research and Development Agency). These measurements show that for some of the sites, the winds are strong and steady enough for the commercial development of wind power.
Join Buffalo’s Green Gold Development Corporation at the Downtown Library (upstairs conference room) on the 17th as they release the findings of this study and answer questions on how the data can be part of our economic development efforts.
